Pros & Cons of Being Gifted
Some pros of being gifted is that you get into special programs like ROGATE, you feel proud of yourself, and the one that applies to me the most is people looking up to you. when i tell people that im in rogate or algebra they ask me... How do you get so smart? How do you become gifted? How do can i maintain good grades? This makes me feel like im a role model, like people come to me for advice on hoe to do better in school. Although its not easy to give people advice, i try as hard as i can to help them.
Some cons of being gifted is that in class you sometimes get bored because you already know the material being taught. People get jealous and it makes you feel bad. People have high expectations of you and sometimes you cant meet them. My parents have really high expectations of me and when i can't reach their expectations i feel like i failed. Also alot of my friend get jealous of me and say "Oh your lucky, i wish i was in ROGATE" and "Oh your lucky i wish i was as smart as you so i could get into algebra" this makes me feel bad, it also makes me feel like a show off which i don't like.
Asynchronous development is when you phsically, emotionally, and intelectually dont develope at the same rate. For me my intelectual development is faster than my physical and emotional development. this gives me an outcome of being 5ft tall, immature, but really smart.
